Pickup/Booking on arrival of boat

How do I reserve my bike immediately upon arrival of the boat?

When you go to the ‘reserve’ heading, you can choose ‘Veerdam’. Here you can book bicycles immediately upon arrival of the boat.

Is location Veerdam open with every departure?

Location Veerdam is open around every regular boat time with the exception of the first and last boat time. In the summer months we are also standard present at the last arrival/departure. We are not present for the first arrival/departure of 6:30 am from Lauwersoog / 7:30 am from Schiermonnikoog. (Our location in the Village at Paaslandweg 1 is open every day from 8:00)


Cancel / Modify

Can I cancel my reservation?

A reservation can be cancelled until 16:00 the day before the start of the reservation with the right to a refund minus €2.50 administration fee. If a reservation is not cancelled on time, this does not entitle you to a refund. However, the reservation can be postponed to another date if availability permits.

If a reservation of several days is cancelled late (after 16:00 the day before the start of the reservation) we will calculate the first day, the remaining amount will then be credited.


Luggage

Free luggage transport?

For groups of 20 people or more, luggage is transported free of charge to and from the residence address. You can fill this in on the form when completing group application.


Payment

What are the payment options?

You can pay by pin or cash at all our locations. For online reservations you can pay via iDEAL.


Delivery

I would like to have my bike delivered, is this possible?

We can deliver bikes depending on your residence address. In order to keep the island as car-free as possible, we only deliver outside the village centre. With some exception for disabled items. When entering your (Staying) address on the reservation page, the delivery option becomes available if your stay is outside the village.


Deposit

Does a deposit have to be paid?

In principle, there is no deposit. However, we reserve the right to charge a guarantee if we deem it necessary.

My deposit has been pinned back, but it has not yet been credited. Now wat?

It may take several days for the amount to be credited to your account. Especially if it’s pinned back on weekends or on vacation days.


Groups

Do groups get a discount?

For groups over 20 people we give a 10% discount. We have a special rate for schools, for questions about this you can email or call us. You can complete the group form here.

Can my dog be in the cargo bike?

Yes your dog can be in the cargo bike.


Children

What is the minimum and maximum age with regard to the children’s tandem?

The minimum age is about 4 years (110cm). Maximum age is about 7 years (145cm).

How many children can be in a kidcar?

A maximum of 2 children can be accommodated in a kid cart. There are straps in the kid cart for every child.

Can our own Maxi-Cosi be attached in the kid cart?

There is no attachment for Maxi-Cosi’s in our kid carts. The cargo bike ‘Cabby’ and the Electric cargo bikes do.


Book

How do I reserve my bike immediately upon arrival of the boat?

When you go to the reservation heading you can choose the Veerdam. Here you can book bicycles immediately upon arrival of the boat.

I can’t choose the desired rental date, how is this possible?

Reservations can be made with us up to 1 day in advance. In high season it is possible that we ‘stop’ the reservations, due to the crowds. That means that reservations can no longer be made, because our reservation spaces are already full.

Bicycle is in assortment but not when booking, what is going on?

Not all of our items are available for rent at all locations. Special items such as Fatbikes, electric cargo bikes, mobility scooters and other items for people with disabilities or disabilities can only be reserved in the village.

I have reserved but have not yet received a confirmation. How is this possible?

If you have not received a confirmation, it may be that the mail has ended up in the unwanted mail. If the confirmation email is also not in it, please contact us.


Pickup/Return

Can I also return my bike to another rental point?

The bikes must be returned to the location where you picked them up, in connection with any future reservations.

What time does the bike(s) need to be returned?

If the bikes have been rented at one of our locations in the village, they must be returned before 18:00. If you have rented the bikes from our Veerdam location, immediately upon arrival of the boat, they must be returned for the boat from 19:30.


Extending

I want to rent my bike longer. Is that possible?

Usually this is possible. Please visit one of our rental points for this, or for the last rental day. However, for some items this is not possible due to the next day reservations.
